Prime Minister Hon. James Marape has commended the Nasfund FM 100 Talkback Show for the important role it has been playing in dissemination of information to Papua New Guinea.
He said this today when launching the popular radio show’s 2021 season, the second year in succession, after doing so last year.
The launching at Sir Manasupe Haus was witnessed by Kalang Advertising Ltd Acting CEO Ms Yolanda Bafmatuk, Telikom PNG Acting CEO Mr. Amos Tepi, Nasfund Acting CEO Mr. Turaho Morea, Bank South Pacific (BSP) Group CEO Mr. Robin Fleming, Nasfund Contributors Savings and Loans Society (NCSL) CEO Mr. Vari Lahui, Kumul Telikom Holdings Ltd (KTHL) Acting MD Mr. Jessie Wangua, Secretary to Prime Minister and NEC Amb. Ivan Pomaleu, among others.
“Let me thank FM100 for your support to our nation to ensure correct information is being broadcast and disseminated to our people,” PM Marape said.
“Thank you very much for your service to our country.
“I am here by virtue of the fact that I personally believe in freedom of speech – a fundamental tenet of our democracy.
“It is a privilege and honor for me launch the 2021 Talkback Show.”
PM Marape acknowledged all sponsors, including NasFund and Bank South Pacific, for making the show possible.
He said the FM100 Talkback Show had become an institution since its inception “and we’d like this to continue on in our country, going into the future”.
“Your engagement with our communities, especially our business houses, members of the diplomatic corps residing in our country, and our entire spectrum of Government helps in our effort to deliver services to our people.
“FM100, I wish you all the best for this year again.”
PM Marape later had a brief Q & A session with host Douglas Dimagi which was broadcast live on FM100.
