PM Marape commemorates Sir Michael Somare’s life with UPNG students

Prime Minister Hon. James Marape last night (February 28 2022) commemorated the first anniversary of the passing of Great Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare with University of PNG students in Port Moresby.

It was an emotional time of reflections, song and candlelight vigil to remember the Father of the Nation.

Sir Michael had a very close relationship with the people of East New Britain as he was born in Rabaul in April 1936 and was initiated into the secret Tumbuan Society
Last night (February 28 2022), at a special first anniversary commemoration service for Sir Michael at University of PNG, East New Britain students sang a song for the man they called ToPalangat.
