PM Marape arrives in Jiwaka

Prime Minister Hon. James Marape arrived in Jiwaka Province this morning to launch and witness the ground breaking of Jiwaka Provincial Headquarters Building at Kurumul.

PM Marape was accompanied by several senior Cabinet ministers, Enga Governor Grand Chief Sir Peter Ipatas, Southern Highlands Governor Hon. William Powi and Jiwaka Governor Hon. Dr. William Tongap.

He was welcomed by several thousand people in traditional Jiwaka dressing.

Other traditional dancers and singsing groups from Hela, Chimbu and Western Highlands were also present.

PM Marape will be in Jiwaka for the next two days.

He meets with the Jiwaka business community on Saturday evening during a dinner at the Jiwaka Mission Resort.

On Saturday, he will attend Sabbath at Minj.

PM Marape will play golf at the Minj Golf Course on Sunday and later launches the Jiwaka Governor’s Cup at Minj Rugby League Oval.

He will launch a road upgrading project in Jimi on Sunday before departing for Port Moresby.

Ministers who accompanied PM Marape are Hon. Michael Nali (Works) , Hon. William Samb (Transport) Hon. Tomait Kapili (Labour and Industrial Relations) Hon. Sir John Pundari (Finance), Hon. Pila Niningi (Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs), Hon. William Duma (State Enterprises), Hon. Dr. Lino Tom (Fisheries), Hon. Timothy Masiu (Information Communication and Technology), Hon. Wake Goi (Community Development and Religion) and Hon. Walter Schnaubelt (Forests).

Goroka MP Aiye Tambua also joined the delegation.
